Infrared thermography inspections are mandatory for electrical systems running at 400 amperes or higher. These inspections must be conducted by a Level II or higher Certified Infrared Thermographer, who is skilled and trained in identifying and documenting thermal irregularities in electrical systems. Miami-Dade County requires that an infrared thermography inspection be performed and a written report be submitted for the 40-year Recertification process.
